What customers say?

“ Niku Kappo JO offers an exceptional lunch course that elevates Wagyu through the refined "Kappo" style. While the beef is world-class, the menu's variety and technical execution are what truly impress. Some highlights: - Wagyu Shabu-Shabu: Incredibly tender beef paired with vibrant greens and a sharp grain mustard. - Truffle Spring Roll: A standout dish—shatteringly crisp and loaded with earthy, freshly shaved truffle. - Shirako Tempura: Perfectly executed with a light, golden batter and a creamy, rich interior. - Roasted Wagyu: Served with sea salt and fresh wasabi, highlighted the meat's natural umami. The only letdown was the curry rice, which had a weird tinge of sourness to it. The service was excellent and attentive. Having the chef so present throughout the meal added a personal, high-end touch to the atmosphere. The lunch course provides immense value, offering a sophisticated journey that goes far beyond just meat. I will definitely be returning for the full dinner course next time. ”

“ Small place but full of action! We can see all the chefs working just infornt of us — chopping, grilling, plating — super fun to watch. Almost every dish is centered around beef, but they manage to keep it fresh and exciting. The portions were just right — enough to enjoy but not too much to make you feel heavy. Everything tasted amazing, and you can tell they really care about the timing and flow of the meal. Nothing felt rushed or boring. ”

“ I had a fantastic lunch experience at this Michelin-starred restaurant! The Kobe high-quality beef course featured an exquisite variety of styles, including shabu-shabu, tartare, sashimi, and truffled spring roll with blue cheese. Other non-beef dishes like the tempura nodoguro fish was also great, with its crispy exterior complementing the tender, fresh inside balanced with bitter leaves. To top it all off, the homemade chestnut mochi for dessert was simply delicious and great view of watching it made from scratch. The service was attentive and pleasant, further enriching the experience. ”

“ I visited this restaurant earlier this year in April while I was visiting Japan. I’ll admit initially it was quite a bit daunting as I was a solo traveler with little to no Japanese under my belt. However, I was extremely well accommodated during my visit. While the majority of people present were couples, there’s an odd number of chairs at the counter so there was a spot at the end for solo diners. There was an English speaker on hand who was able to help explain the dishes to me as they came out, and there was another gentleman who spoke English as well who was initially able to greet me and welcomed me into the establishment. The food itself was nothing short of perfect, a great experience overall. The beef was exquisite, it was my number one reason for visiting this establishment and will be the number one reason why I return the next time I visit Tokyo. ”

“ Best beef we ever had. The chef is a true master of the craft. It was fascinating to see how seemingly effortless they prepared all the food. He also catered perfectly to my dietary requirements. Very private and personal cooking, reservation is a must. ”

“ Worth every penny. All the dishes we ate are excellent. The place is small so it will be an intimate experience, with the food cooked in front of you. I liked the wagyu sando the most. ”
